Choosing the right wedding officiant is an important part of planning your special day. Wildflower Weddings is a division of The Wildflower Company and offers couples the opportunity to work alongside Sharon McComb Schwass, who is a certified and licensed wedding officiant through the Province of Ontario to perform marriages.

Understand the Role of a Wedding Officiant

Before you start searching for a wedding officiant in Ontario, it's important to

understand their role in your ceremony. A wedding officiant is responsible for legally

marrying you and your partner, as well as leading the ceremony and ensuring that it

reflects your values and beliefs. They can also provide guidance and support as you plan

your ceremony, and help you navigate any legal requirements or paperwork. It's

important to choose a wedding officiant who you feel comfortable with and who shares your

vision for your special day. With an abundance of resources at their fingertips, Wildflower Weddings can help you create your own personalized wedding ceremony that embraces you, as a couple! Sharon supports you throughout the wedding planning journey right up to and including the BIG DAY!

Choose the Right Type of Officiant for Your Ceremony

When it comes to choosing a wedding officiant in Ontario, there are several options to

consider. You can choose a religious officiant, such as a priest or rabbi, who can

incorporate religious traditions and rituals into your ceremony. Alternatively, you can

choose a civil officiant, such as a judge or justice of the peace, who can provide a

non-religious ceremony that focuses on your love and commitment to each other. You

can also choose a humanist officiant, who can provide a personalized ceremony that

reflects your values and beliefs. Consider your preferences and the type of ceremony

you want when choosing the right officiant for your wedding. Your ceremony should be a time of beauty, harmony and joy: weddings today are often far from 'traditional' and Wildflower Weddings has helped to inspire many unique wedding ceremonies, in conventional & unconventional venues, and with many types of families. Because family is often a big part of your Big Day, helping couples to establish boundaries, honour themselves as a couple and still show their respect for their family is something Sharon excels at!

Research and Interview Potential Officiants

Before choosing an officiant for your wedding in Ontario, it's important to do your

research and interview potential candidates. Start by asking for recommendations from

friends and family, or search online for wedding officiants in your area. Once you have a list of

potential candidates, schedule a meeting or phone call to discuss your ceremony and

get a sense of their style and personality. Ask about their experience, fees, and any

requirements they may have. It's important to choose an officiant who you feel

comfortable with and who can help make your wedding ceremony a memorable and

meaningful experience.

Customize Your Ceremony with Your Officiant

One of the benefits of hiring a wedding officiant in Ontario is the ability to customize

your ceremony to reflect your unique personalities and beliefs. Your officiant can work

with you to create a ceremony that includes special readings, rituals, or traditions that

are meaningful to you. They can also help you write your vows or suggest ways to

involve family members or friends in the ceremony. Be sure to discuss your ideas and

preferences with your officiant early on in the planning process to ensure that your

ceremony is everything you want it to be. With Wildflower Weddings, Sharons commitment is to honour the Bride & Groom in one of life's biggest celebrations - as you have eyes only for each other, she has her eyes on You and making sure your Wedding Ceremony is all you ever dreamed it would be! Every couple who chooses to use Wildflower Weddings will have access to an amazing ceremony planning resource site filled with countless ceremony options.

Ensure Legal Requirements are Met

When choosing a wedding officiant in Ontario, it's important to ensure that they are

legally authorized to perform marriages in the province. In Ontario, only certain

individuals are authorized to perform marriages, including religious officials, judges, and

municipal clerks. Your officiant should be able to provide proof of their authorization,

such as a license or certificate. They should also be familiar with the legal requirements

for getting married in Ontario, such as obtaining a marriage license and registering the

marriage with the government. Sharon is certified and licensed through the Province of Ontario to perform marriages. Following the ceremony, Sharon files your Marriage Registry and mails your completed marriage licence to the Office of the Registrar General.
